You don’t need to know HTML to learn XML, but if your intent is to embed XML into your page, it would probably help to learn both. Learn CSS for HTML will help as well.
Simple answer, no, you can learn XML without knowing HTML. Real answer – yes, if you want the site to work properly, you’ll need to have a firm understanding of html, php, and more to make effective use of xml.
