I have a good grasp of HTML and a beginners grasp of CSS. I need to develop my languages over the summer. Specifically I might need to have a better grasp of HTML and CSS, completely learn .xml from scratch, maybe perl or python or other such languages. I am going to get a few books and try to learn that way, but I was wondering if an online class might work better? Any tips?

I’m focusing on the essentials first. I already know HTML, XHTML, CSS, and Javascript and I’m planning on learning Java, PHP, SQL, and ASP. I was also thinking Ajax, DHTML, Perl, and XML and some of its derivatives would be helpful as well. I have a limited budget and want to start designing web sites and building up a resume as soon as possible so I can get a job.

Could anyone tell me where I can find information about writing XML (plus DTD and XSLT) on Perl?

I already know HTML. I know flash and understand actionscript, but could not make anything fancy without any tutorials at the moment. I have used XML in my flash slideshow I made once. there are all these other languages, as far as I know, CGI and ASP and PERL do basically the same thing.. so which should I learn.. do i need to know them all… what is PHP? aghh… I need help =( I also want to learn C++. Object oriented whatever that means ( i know u can make games in it). Is flash object oriented too? AGHHH
my school doesnt even teach any programming. Blah. where can I learn it without wastin all my cash. im poor. GAH.
