I’m trying to check this XML document, but when I open it, a list of codes just come out. How do I fix this?

I want to display the entire XML file in a DIV section including the tags within the XML document. When I do an alert to display the XML file, it is shown just the way I want it…tags and all! But when I display it in a DIV section…the tags are removed and just the [...]
Hey, Im trying to source a load of stuff to HTML. I have an XML document as a seperate file working fine and loading into the html no problems, but I want that XML file to source text from a .txt file. Any ideas how i could do this?
